If Pakistani celebs were to play Game of Thrones characters
KARACHI: The world of Game of Thrones is a unique and scary one. The unlikeliest of characters survive till the end, and the most lovable ones can die in the most unexpected of moments.
One can never tell for sure how many episodes or if you’re lucky, seasons, one can survive in the cruel world of men and white walkers amidst the eternal wars.
Much has been written about how Pakistani celebrities would fit in theGame of Thrones but we wonder how long they would last. As the hated villain Cercei Lannister once said, “When you play the Game of Thrones, you win or you die,” Pakistani stars could very well win and sit on the Iron Throne or be unsuspectedly perished.
“People have already compared me to Sam,” Former EP member Ahmed Ali Butt told The Express Tribune. “The guy has the knowledge and then, I was the first one to kill a white walker.” About how long he thinks he would last on the show, he said, “I’ll be there till the end because come on, no one would want to kill a cute guy.”
Supermodel-turned-actress Sadaf Kanwal was highly confident and, professing her love for Jon Snow, said, “I’ll be Khaleesi and stay alive till the end.”
While several other stars were either unavailable for comment or were not Game of Thrones fans, it didn’t stop us from speculating. Adnan Siddiqui as Stannis Baratheon, Umair Jaswal as Khal Drogo, and Armeena Khan as Sansa Stark would make perfect choices. Jaswal, however, with his physical strength and wits, could survive longer than Drogo did.
While Game of Thrones may not see any Pakistani actors in its cast anytime, it’s probably safe to say most of the local stars could survive the ever-manipulative game of power, vengeance and survival.
