Hamza vows to resolve problems of journalists

Lahore: PML-N central leader Hamza Shehbaz has said that those staging sit-ins caused loss to Pakistan.
He expressed these views while talking to a 50-member delegation of senior journalists at party secretariat in Model Town on Monday.

He said that the people responded those who started long march on the container from Lahore and used mudslinging and indecent language with the results of local bodies elections. He invited them to work jointly for the betterment of the country and the nation as all are agreed on national development.

He said that the victory of PML-N with thumping majority in local bodies elections is a great responsibility and the elected representatives will have to deliver at grass root level. He said the confidence of the people will strengthen in democracy on solving their problems at their doorstep. He said the government would take all possible steps for strengthening local bodies system through constitutional amendment and empowering them.

He said the change would be brought in the country through elections. He said that PML-N respected the mandate of the people in 2013 elections and did not form its government in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but gave political sacrifice. Similarly, PML-N did not support no confidence move in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and honoured the mandate of the people.

Hamza said the people would decide defeat and victory in 2018 elections. He said the dream of making Pakistan a developed country will be materialised under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Hamza said that media has an important role in the promotion of democracy. He said that despite some short comings, we have to promote democracy.

He said that he faced six months imprisonment at the age of 19 years and faced police stations and courts. He said that if Imran Khan is also fond of politics, he should visit Attock Fort.

Hamza said that he never responded indecent language of PTI. He invited Imran Khan to become part of parliamentary committee for electoral reforms so that 2018 elections could be made more transparent.

He while appreciating the services of journalist community said that all problems of journalists including journalist colony will be resolved. He said the financial assistance of journalists will be made in a better manner so that they could meet their requirements including treatment, marriage of their children.

He also assured retrieving of B-block and completion of development work at the earliest. Press Gallery President Khawaja Naseer, Secretary Qamar Jabbar, Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari, Secretary Information Imran Ali Goraya also accompanied Hamza Shehbaz while senior journalists Pervaiz Bashir, Khawaja Farrukh Saeed, Raees Ansari, Malik Masood Awan and Khalid Qayyum also participated in question-answer session.
