KARACHI: The photograph of Geo TV anchor Hamid Mir was burnt on Saturday during a rally civil society organisations held here to show solidarity with the Army, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Hamid Mir photograph was kicked and raised hateful slogans against him and later the photograph was set on fire. The cameramen from different TV channels, who have especially been brought by the protesters, were on the forefront in the despicable acts.

The posters of the Jang and Geo and copies of Jang newspapers were set on fire.

After fiery speeches, they insulted Hamid Mir by kicking his photograph and then set it on fire.

Such an environment was created in front of the press club that the journalists belonging to Jang Group and Geo TV could not enter the press club and report the demonstrations.

Some impartial camera men and photographers said that many speakers were just moving their lips while the speeches were delivered from the tape recorders placed behind them.

The speeches contained highly hateful material and the journalists belonging to Jang and Geo were branded as the agents of India and Israel and they were termed worst enemies of the national institutions.

The journalists of Jang and Geo were condemned as the front platoon of the forces inimical to Pakistan and the conspirators to disintegrate the country.
