Group painting exhibition opens at Coopera Art Gallery

LAHORE: A group painting exhibition by renowned artists kicked off at Coopera Art Gallery on Friday.
Lahore DCO Noorul Amin Mengal inaugurated the exhibition. He appreciated the efforts of artists belonging to Sindh and Punjab. He said that such events could bring the provinces more closely and help students learn the art of painting.More than 50 aesthetically rich paintings have been put on display. A large number of student’s art lovers attended the exhibition and admired the work. Hussain Chandio, an artist, said that his artwork is based on “odd angles and unusual views that have always inspired me and raise my desire to paint them”.

He said that sometime a bird’s eye view of a building and people walking on roads inspires him to paint.
“My work is, therefore, totally different as I capture different angles which are generally not noticed by a common man,” Chandio said. Manzoor Solangi, another artist, said that he has tried to paint the poor affairs of education in the country.

Jam Depar said that he paints his surroundings in seasonal colours. Munawar Mohiuddin, another artist, said that he always looks “beyond the surface to depict how canvas responds to nature”. “It is not just what the eye sees but what the soul senses… what I find important. This is what I want to communicate through my work,” Munawar said.
