Govt urged to restore FM 103 services

LAHORE – The management of FM-103 (Mast radio) has demanded of the government to immediately restore the services of the radio, and also withdraw cases registered against the officials of this radio.

While addressing a press conference in Lahore on November 13, Shafqat Ullah Station Manager FM-103 radio Lahore alleged that some government officials are carrying out revengeful activities against the staff and management of FM 103, which was getting popularity among the people.

He said that a case has been registered against the officials of the radio FM-103 under baseless allegations, while police sealed the premises of the radio station without cogent reasons.

He appealed to journalist organisations and human rights associations to raise voice against this action of the government so as to ensure freedom of expression. He said that the management of FM-103 has already initiated an inquiry to fix responsibility over transmission of some controversial reports. “If any staff member is found responsible for any lapse, action would be taken”, he assured.

He said that the management of FM-103 is also going to approach political parties, human rights organisations and journalist bodies to apprise them unjustified action taken by the government against the FM 103 radio.

He said that Pemra has expressed its ignorance regarding government action against the FM radio.
