Government determined to develop Thar coal: CM
Karachi: The government is determined to develop Thar coal so as to bring a socio-economic revolution in Pakistan, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah while presiding over the 15th meeting of the Thar Coal and Energy Board at the CM House on Saturday.
The growing energy needs of the country could be met by utilising the Thar coal for which the government would provide all facilities to put in place the necessary infrastructure so that mining could be started at the earliest, the chief minister said.
On the occasion, Planning Commission Member Energy Shahid Sattar, Federal Secretary for Water and Power Zafar Mehmood, Secretary Coal and Energy Department Muhammad Suhail Rajput and others officials gave briefings on various aspects of the Thar coal.
