Government lifts ban on eveninger
Karachi: The Sindh government has lifted restriction on daily Mashriq eveninger Special Karachi and the newspaper is preparing to resume publication from Friday, a statement of the Mashriq Management Private Ltd. Said here on Thursday.
It said the removal of restriction followed a meeting of office bearers of APNS and CPNE on Saturday last with Sindh Home and Information Secretaries, notification about which was issued on Thursday.
Deputy Secretary Home Department Shahnawaz Tariq wrote a letter on August 1to Inspector General Sindh informing about the government ‘s decision. While withdrawing restriction order dated July 17,2002 the government also directed the relevant police authorities to unseal the offices of daily Mashriq Eveninger Special immediately, the statement further said.
The daily will resume its publication in Karachi after 14-day break. Due to restriction its sister publications Mashriq (hub) and evening Special (Hyderabad) were also faced with restriction, it pointed out.
