Global efforts needed to control cyber crime: Anusha
ISLAMABAD – State Minister for IT and Telecom Anusha Rehman said yesterday that a collective effort is required to protect the cyber space.
During her meeting with the Ambassador of Japan Takashi Kurai, here she reiterated that cyber crime has become a matter of global concern now and a collective effort is required to protect the cyber space as this crime does not exist within the boundaries of a nation.
Therefore, universal cooperation among nations is direly needed to address the emerging enhanced requirement of cyber security.
The minister further said that they are in the process of enacting a law on cyber crimes which will also ensure that internet users have same legal rights online.
Moreover, all the sections of this proposed law have been prescribed as non-cognizable except terrorism and child pornography.
The Japanese Ambassador assured his cooperation for enhancing bilateral engagement in IT and Telecom spheres between the two countries.
