Girls’ school blown up in Jamrud

JAMRUD- Suspected terrorists blew up a govt girls high school in Akaljan village of Jamrud in Khyber Agency on Sunday.

No casualties were reported, as the building was empty at the time of the attack.

Tribal sources said that the terrorists had placed explosives inside the school building, which went off in the wee hours on Sunday.

‘The blast was heard far off, meaning that high-grade explosives were used’, they added. ‘It completely destroyed the school building’, the sources said.

Terrorists have stepped up attacks on government run schools and at least 35 government schools have been destroyed in the Khyber Agency, four of them in Jamrud.
