Girls bag top positions in SSC-I exams
ISLAMABAD: Girls bagged top positions in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) part-I examination in both science and humanities groups of the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Tuesday.
Announcing the result of SSC Part-I (class IX) Annual Examination 2009 results, the FBISE in a press release said out of 64,148 students, 32,208 were declared successful.
The students who passed the examination included 15, 278 boys and 15,619 girls in both groups. The girls scored highest marks in the part-I examination as five out of six students securing highest marks were the girls.
Nimra Sadiq of Fazaia Inter College, Mushaf, Sargodhah stood first in science group securing 512 out of a total 525 marks. Hareem Nisar of HITEC School and College for Girls, Taxila Cantt bagged second position acquiring 510 marks. The third position for this group, went to Mahnoor Amin of HITEC School and College for Girls, Taxila Cantt, obtaining 508 marks.
However in humanities group Afshan Zahra of H H Shaikh Rashid Al Makhtoum Pakistan School Dubai UAE bagged the first position by securing 477 marks, Muneera Bakhsh of Al-Qeeq International School Abe Baker Al Siddeaque Road, Madina KSA stood second, securing 466 Marks. However, Hafiz Ahmad Ali of Institute of Islamic Sciences, Satra Meel (F A) Islamabad, secured third position obtaining 462 marks.
Meanwhile, the FBISE organized a simple ceremony to present cash prizes of Rs10, 000, Rs7, 000 and Rs5,000 to holders of first, second and third positions respectively. The cash prizes were given away by FBISE Chairperson Shaheen Khan.
