Girl shot dead by cousin

SUKKUR: A teenage girl was killed by her cousin in the name of honour in a village near Kashmore on Sunday.

Abdul Sattar Mazari suspected that his cousin Azizan, 18, had illicit relations with a man of the area. He came to his uncle’s house and shot her dead while she was busy in preparing meals.

Police took the body to a hospital for autopsy. No case was registered till late Sunday evening.

ARREST: Police have arrested a man on the charge of torturing his sister-in-law and shaving her head.

Erum, wife of Rehan Mangi, and her father came to a police station here on Saturday night and told police that her brother-in-law Farhan Mangi had confined her to a room in their house in Nusrat colony, tortured her and shaved her head.

She said that her screams alerted neighbours who informed her father. He came to her rescue and brought her to the police station. On the complaint of Erum police registered an FIR against Farhan and arrested him.

A police official said that the accused in his statement to police rejected the allegations and said that he had shaved Erum’s head with her consent because of lice in her hair.
