Gandhara statues to be put on public display: Sassui
KARACHI: Sindh Culture Minister Sassui Paleejo said on Wednesday that she had directed the secretary and other officials of her department to ensure that the 395 statues of Gandhara civilization seized recently by the police be properly showcased at national museum Karachi within 10 days.
Responding to questions by media at Sindh Assembly building, she said court had given its verdict in favour of Sindh and now the statues are property of archeology department, devolved to Sindh after 18th Amendment in the Constitution.
The minister said the statues would be examined in laboratory within 10 days to ascertain if they are original or not.
She said the seized statues would be put on public display after Eid-ul-Fitr.
