FSC CJ to head Saleem Shahzad’s murder probe team
ISLAMABAD: Federal Shariat Cout Chief Justice Agha Rafiq has been appointed chairman of the commission to probe the murder of journalist Saleem Shahzad.
Federal Minister for Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, while talking to state-run TV, said the appointment of a judge as the chairman of the probe commission was a long-standing demand of the journalists’ community, and the federal government had accepted their demand. She said the federal government was cognisant of the journalists’ problems and would continue to address them. She urged all those who had some information or clue about Saleem Shahzad’s murder to share it with the commission so that the facts of the case could be made public and culprits brought to justice.
