Frontier Publications calls for APNS meeting
PESHAWAR: The Frontier Publications (Pvt) Ltd. has requested the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) for convening, within three days, an emergent general body meeting for the purpose of an indepth deliberation of the situation emerging after the arrest of the Editor-in-Chief of Frontier Post, Rehmat Shah Afridi.
The Frontier Publications has every reason to feel concerned and apprehensive of the future of Afridi. While rejecting the stance of the official quarter, the Frontier Post is more than willing to defend its leader irrespective of cost and the consequences. “The Frontier Publications demands of the august body and all member publications to extend their help in this fight against the forces arrayed against the existence of the Post,” a press release issued here said. “The unflinching support and cooperation on the part of the APNS in this hour of trial would be of invaluable significance not only for us but also for the future of the fraternity,” the press release added.
