Foreign Office rejects media’s insinuations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday rejected reports published in a section of press regarding insinuations on seeking immunity for the former chiefs of ISI.

Foreign Office spokesman while responding to news analyses carried by a section of the media portraying the determination made by the US Department of State seeking immunity for the former chiefs of ISI, as part of some “deal”, rejected such reports.

The spokesperson rejected such insinuations as “totally baseless and incorrect”. Nothing specific has been clarified in the foreign office spokesman’s clarification. The report in question talks about a clandestine understanding between the military leadership of the United Sates and Pakistan. Therefore, as a matter of principle, any clarification on the subject should have been issued by the ISPR spokesman instead of the foreign office.
