FM Radios helping in solving people’s problems

LAHORE: “The Chairman, Mass Communication Department Punjab University Dr. Mughees-ud-din Sheikh has said that under the PEMRA Ordinance there is no restriction on provision of information, however, the FM Radios, playing the role to solve the difficulties of people, should prove to be patriotic Pakistani.”

He expressed these views while addressing the participants of 3-days workshop on “Radio Presenters’ News & Current Affairs”, held under the auspices of the Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) at local hotel here. He said that it is utmost necessary to pull out black sheep from the PEMRA, which put the FM Radios on the wrong path. He said that Punjab University’s Campus Radio also remained target of irrelevant policies of these elements. Dr. Ehsan Akhtar Naz, addressing on the occasion said that the FM Radios under the training imparted by PPF would achieve progress on modern lines.

Editorial Coordinator, Muqtada Mansoor, while addressing the participants of workshop said that aim of PPF was to develop the capacity of the program presenters. Pakistan Press International’s editor Naseer Aijaz, addressing the participants said that the people wanted to get maximum current news and information through the radio immediately and this is why the PPF through the FM Radios were endeavoring to include information and current affairs into their programs.

Anees Mansoori and Musawir Shahid, Anwar Malik, Rubi Naz, Aliza, Shah Mir, Saima and other speakers, expressing their views said that the PPF was first organization, which was arranging workshops for the improvement and training of the FM Radios in Pakistan.
