Flood hits 10 villages of Pasrur

SIALKOT: The standing seasonal crops on hundreds of acres of land were badly damaged in Pasrur tehsil’s 10 villages including Jabbokey, Nawaadhey and Jhaatokey, which were inundated due to spate in flooded Naullah Dek here on Wednesday.

The traffic remained suspended on main Pasrur-Narowal Road for about six hours, which also remained under flood water almost the whole day. Sialkot DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal that the Naullah Dek was overflowing near Pasrur and the floodwater splashed over the banks of the Naullah following the ongoing spell of heavy monsoon rains in Sialkot region and in all the catchment areas in neighbouring Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

District Coordination Officer Zahid Saleem Gondal told the newsmen that the flood situation was out of danger and totally under control.

However, the floodwater level was souring up in the River Chenab at Head Marala. The flow of floodwater was 134,480. There was a low level flood in Chenab at Head Marala following the ongoing fresh spell of heavy monsoon rains.
