Five more killed in Karachi
At least five people were killed in different incidents in the city on Thursday, police and rescue sources said. In the first incident, a man was gunned down in Lines Area in the limits of Brigade police station. The deceased was identified as Ashiq Abbas, 45, son of Fazal Abbas.
Police said that unidentified armed men riding on motorbike emerged in Lines Area and killed Ashiq with multiple gunshots. Police said the motive behind the murder could not be ascertained. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
In another incident, a man was shot and severely injured by unknown armed men in Landhi area in the limits of Pakistan Bazaar police station. The victim was identified as Aijaz alias Mushqa, son of Mohammad Younus. Police said that unidentified armed men targeted Aijaz in Bangla Bazaar, Orangi Town number 15, leaving him severely injured. The victim was moved to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment, where his condition is stated to be critical.
Separately, a middle age man was knocked to death in a hit-and-run accident in Aram Bagh area in the limits of Aram Bagh police station. Rescue sources said that deceased was hit by an unknown speedy vehicle while he was crossing the road. Police shifted his body to Civil Hospital Karachi
Similarly, a man was killed in a road accident in Sohrab Goth area, rescue sources said. Sources said that the incident occurred in Shorab Goth area where a fast-moving vehicle knocked down a man and fled. Resultantly he died on the spot. Meanwhile, a man died of electrocution in Korangi area. The deceased was identified as Raza Ahmed son of Baksh Ali. Sources said that deceased was the employees of KESC who was electrocuted while doing technical work at the roof of the office. The deceased was a resident of Korangi area, who originally hailed from Khoshab, Punjab.
