Firing on newsman’s car slated
HYDERABAD: A meeting of the General Body of the Hyderabad Press Club (HPC) has demanded immediate arrest of criminals involved in firing on the car of a senior journalist and club’s former president Mahesh Kumar.
President HPC Jafar Memon condemned the firing incident which took place on Friday outside the club. Some motorcyclists fired upon the car of Mahesh Kumar.
Senior journalists Ali Hassan, Lal Rehman Samoon, Irfan Arain and others condemning the incident said that it was a ploy to create a rift among the journalists of Hyderabad.
A resolution was adopted demanding immediate arrest of culprits. Second resolution sought protection to journalists’ community.
