ECP restrained from notifying results of five constituencies
A division bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Muhammad Afzal Soomro and Farrukh Zia Sheikh on Saturday restrained the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from officially notifying the results of the constituencies NA-239 of the National Assembly and PS-89, PS-90, PS-93, PS-128 of the Sindh Assembly.
The candidates of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on these seats had prayed the SHC to grant stay order regarding issuance of the official notifications of the ECP for results of these constituencies. The division bench issued pre-admission notice to the ECP for February 26 and in the meantime restrained it from notifying the official results of the said constituencies.
On the said constituencies of the National and Sindh Assemblies the candidates of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) were declared unofficially the returned candidates.
