Drive against illegal cable operators
KARACHI – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has launched aggressive campaign against the illegal TV cable operators of Sindh region.
Initially the drive has been launched in four districts including District Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad and Nawabshah.
Regional General Manager PEMRA Sindh Waseem Ahmed Sindh directed all the illegal cable TV operators of the region to get them registered with PEMRA and get license of their cable TV operations immediately to avoid any further action. He advised the cable TV defaulters to deposit their dues to PEMRA in time.
He also warned some TV cable operators to stop relaying obscene and pornographic contents, otherwise legal action will be taken against.
