District Nazim accused of ignoring Qasimabad, Rural Talukas

HYDERABAD: The elected representatives of the Qasimabad Taluka have accused District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jameel of ignoring the Qasimabad and Rural Talukas on an ethnic basis.Speaking at a news conference, Qasimabad Taluka Nazim Noor Mohammed Shoro, Naib Nazim Haider Shahani, UC Nazims Mahboob Abro and Yameen Soomro and councillors said that no development work has been carried out in Qasimabad despite the passage of one year of the installation of the district government. They said they had drawn the attention of the district government to the problems of the Qasimabad and Rural Talukas, but in vain.

They alleged that roads, hospitals and schools are not being constructed in these two Talukas on the basis of ethnicity, and added that Taluka authorities are not even allowed to appoint sweepers. The complainants said the voice of the elected representatives is also being suppressed and whenever an elected representative raises his voice cases are lodged against him. They announced that a hunger strike would be observed on Dec 6 at Naseem Nagar Chowk and urged the provincial government to take notice of the situation. Meanwhile, a spokesman for the district Nazim refuted the allegations, saying that a record number of development schemes are being carried out in the Qasimabad Taluka.
