Director-General Pakistan Radio Pakistan assumes charge as president of Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union
Over 227 broadcast media organizations from 56 countries are members of Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU)
Director-General Radio Pakistan Murtaza Solangi today assumed charge as President of Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). Mr. Murtaza Solangi will head the organization till ABU General Assembly meets in October this year to elect a new President.
Over 227 broadcast media organizations from 56 countries are members of ABU. Taken together‚ they broadcast to over 3 billion people‚ more than half of the world population. Director-General Radio Pakistan is also the Chairman of the Executive Board of Asia Pacific Broadcasting Development.
This is for the first time that a pakistani is heading both AIBD and ABU.
