Demo staged against Pearl’s kidnapping

HYDERABAD- Activists of the Pak-American Human Rights Wing of International Peace Friends Society Pakistan held a protest demonstration outside the press club on Friday against the kidnapping of American journalist Daniel Pearl.

Talking to newsmen, the president of the organization, Saeed Nizami said that the American journalist had been kidnapped by Taliban, Al-Qaeda and Indian agency RAW.

He said that it was the duty of the Government of Pakistan, the international media, human rights organizations to make all out efforts for the recovery of the kidnapped journalist, and ensure protection to newsmen.

He said journalists were national assets of any country and it was, therefore, the responsibility of all civilized governments to provide them protection.

The leaders of different wings of the society including Haroon Butt, Hassan Jafri, Yousuf Narejo, Sadat Khan, Ms Samreen Shah, and Ms Mehwish among others participated in the demonstration.
