Deletion of daily from media list deplored
KARACHI — The president of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS), Arif Nizami, in a letter to the federal information secretary, has protested over the deletion of the daily Jinnah, Islamabad, from the central media list and imposition of ban on government advertisements for it.
He said the APNS had received a complaint from the daily Jinnah alleging that it was deleted from the media list owing to its editorial policy and publication of stories against the information minister. The APNS president asked the secretary to explain the facts of the cases to that the APNS executive committee take up the issue.
Meanwhile, the secretary — general of the Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors, Jabbar Khattak, said the CPNE secretariat received a complaint from daily Jinnah regarding its exclusion from the media list and denial of advertisements to it.
He asked the CPNE convener to review the matter and send recommendations to the CPNE secretariat.
