Death of Quratul Ain Haider condoled

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21: Quratul Ain Haider was a unique and significant writer of the present era. She inspired many generations through her writings, and her death is a huge blow to Urdu literature.

These views were expressed by chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL), Iftikhar Arif, in his condolence message on the death of the renowned Urdu novelist, poet and short story writer on Tuesday.

He said with Quratul Ain’s death a brilliant epoch of Urdu literature had come to an end. The history of Urdu literature remains incomplete without her writings, such as her novels Aag ka Darya, Aakhre Shab ke Hamsafar, Mayray Bhee Sanam Khanay, Chandni Begum and her biography Kar Jahan Draz Hay.

The craft through which she discovered the roots of civilization with historic awareness is her rare characteristic. She had a perfect command overnarrative and presentedvaried themes in her writing skillfully.

Quratul Ain had been honoured by Paddam Shiri Award and Sathya Academy Award, Giyyan Patna Award and many others.
