DawnNews team attacked
ISLAMABAD: Three staffers of DawnNews suffered minor injuries when an angry mob attacked the television channel’s DSNG (Digital Satellite News Gathering) vehicle during violence here on Friday.
Mohammad Akhtar, the DSNG operator, was injured when the protesters smashed the window panes of the vehicle at Faizabad while the news team was covering the agitation on the Islamabad Expressway.
The attackers also pelted the vehicle with stones. The unruly youth surrounded the van and attacked two other DawnNews staffers, a driver and another operator, with batons.
The three men were shifted to a hospital. However, the crew again joined the duty after getting medical treatment.
