Dawn reporter passes away

JACOBABAD: Ghansham Das Dodeja alias Ghani, a correspondent for Dawn in Jacobabad, died of cardiac arrest here on Tuesday. He was 70.

He leaves behind a widow, two daughters and a son.

Dodeja joined journalism in 1958 after doing M.A. He worked as correspondent for a number of Sindhi, Urdu and English dailies.

Ghansham Das was respected for his professional integrity and a keen interest in civic and social matters.

In the 2002 general election he contested a Sindh Assembly seat, but lost.
