Cultural heritage promotion creates national unity: PM
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that promotion of cultural activities has an important role in national unity.
Talking to Samina Khalid Ghorki, Federal Minister for National Integration and Heritage who called on him at PM House Wednesday said that Pakistan has a rich cultural heritage and its promotion would help enrich culture and create cohesion among the people.
He emphasized the need for devising a comprehensive plan to the true flavor and spirit of Pakistani culture.
The premier directed Minister for National Integration and Heritage to work for advancing the folk traditions of Pakistan through arranging cultural events. Endorsement of national language, said the Prime minister, would help a great deal to strengthen the national bond.
Mrs. Samina Khalid Ghorki briefed the Prime Minister on issues pertaining to her ministry.
Meanwhile, talking to MNAs including Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, MNA and Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur ex-MNA a separate meeting the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has urged party workers to increase contact with the people and make preparations for the upcoming general elections
The Prime Minister said that PPP is a federal party and a symbol of national unity. Pakistan People’s Party believes in serving the people of Pakistan and has always won their support whenever transparent elections were held in the country.
The PPP, said the Prime Minister, believes that real power rests with the people of Pakistan who have always shown their support for democratic process.
Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani and Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur thanked the Prime Minister for taking keen interest in resolving issues of their constituencies.
