Court orders not being implemented: Chief Justice

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday once again sought a comprehensive report from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in the missing International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) containers’ case while Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry observed that the court’s orders were not being implemented.

A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Chaudhry, resumed hearing on the fortnightly progress report in the Isaf containers’ case. The court expressed dissatisfaction with the NAB and FBR reports in the case and observed it seemed that the court’s order was not being implemented intentionally. At this, the NAB deputy prosecutor informed the court that the bureau was fully engaged in collecting evidence of the scam.

The court had earlier directed concerned persons at the NAB and FBR to submit a detailed report on a day-to-day basis by taking action against all elements involved in the scam without discrimination. The case was then adjourned after the NAB and FBR sought more time to show progress in the case. Meanwhile, the court on Monday directed the NAB and FBR to submit a new detailed report on the scam and adjourned the hearing till today (Tuesday).
