Courses for journalists on AIDS

KARACHI: Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) Control Programme, Government of Sindh will conduct a series of training courses for the working journalists so that they could play their role towards the prevention of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, (HIV) AIDS.

Dr. Syed Sharaf Ali Shah, Project Director of the Programme in his meeting, stated this with the office bearers of Karachi-Press Club (KPC).

He said that these training courses would be conducted in collaboration with the KPC.

Dr. Shah stated that a resource center would also be set up for the dissemination of the relevant information to the journalists. All the related books and Internet facility would also be made available. The training courses have been planned in the wake of the focus group discussions recently.

First of the training courses will be conducted on November 13 at the KPC.

A computer with Internet connection would be made available to the Karachi Press Club besides some books on health for the library of the KPC.

Secretary, KPC, Najib Ahmed and Vice-President, Rashid Ali Khan were also present.
