LAHORE – The Sub-Committee of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), with Arif Nizami in the chair, finalised the draft of the proposed Press Council. This draft will now be submitted to The Standing Committee of the CPNE at its next meeting for approval. Earlier, the CPNE was given a mandate by The Standing Committee for self-regulatory independent press council.

Mr Fasih lqbal (The Balochistan Times), Mr Mustafa Sadiq (Daily Wifaq), Mr Mumtaz Tahir (Daily Aftab), Mr Mujibur Rehman Shami (Daily Pakistan), Mr Zia Shahid (Daily Khabrain), Mr Arif Nizami (The Nation) and Mr Shaheen Qureshi (Pakistan Times) attended the meeting of the sub-committee.
