Cops manhandle journalist, students

LAHORE: Punjab police personnel manhandled a journalist and students of the MAO College, a private TV channel reported on Thursday.

According to the channel, students of the MAO College were protestingby blocking Bank Road when the police officials beat up journalist Umer Aslam and the college students. Police took Umer into custody and took him to Islampura Police Station. He was released when he told them that he was a journalist. Meanwhile, Punjab Union of Journalists’ Farrukh Butt demanded the suspension of Mujhahid Squad personnel, adding that PUJ would protest in front of the Punjab Assembly if their demands were not met.
