Cop among five accused of rape
SUKKUR: Mirpur Mathelo police have arrested three rapists, including a policeman, and are conducting raids for the arrest of remaining two.
A woman, Heer, wife of Shafiq Kalwar, had lodged FIR No: 97/2007 with the Mirpur Mathelo police, accusing her brother-in-Law Rafiq Kalwar, who is also a policeman, Ali Sher Kalwar, Salim Kalwar, Khair Mohammad Kalwar and Amin Kalwar of raping her after making her unconscious on August 21 while her husband was away.
She stated that the culprits were threatening her with dire consequences if she reported the matter to the police. The police have arrested three accused and are conducting raids to arrest Khair Mohammad Kalwar and Amin Kalwar. Meanwhile, the woman has been sent to a hospital for medical check-up.
