Contempt plea against Ummat: hearing adjourned

KARACHI (PPI): After adjournment of a contempt of court application against Editor daily Ummat, Rafiq Afghan, more than 20 women became infuriated and searched for Arbab Ghulam Rahim, a wadera of Tharparkar area, who filed the defamation suit and contempt of court application against the said editor.

Arbab Ghulam Rahim sought direction from the SHC to stop daily Ummat from publication against him regarding his involvement in the smuggling of women and later filed a contempt of court application against Rafiq Afghan.

Arbab was present in the court during the healing of his suit where two women, Maroofan and Basheeran, recovered from his custody in Tharparkar, were waiting for him with more than 20 women and photographers of different newspapers. Rahim fled from the court and was followed by ladies but managed to escape in his car narrowly escaped from the women. Khawaja Naveed counsel for Rafiq Afghan was also present in the court with his client.
