Conference for women in business
KARACHI: Pakistan Society for Training and Development (PSTD) announced on Tuesday to organise the fifth annual one-day conference for working women titled Women in Business Conference (WIBCON) on January 29.
“The conference is aimed at assisting professionals in achieving excellence in today’s competitive environment,” said Aamir Niazi, president of PSTD – a non-governmental organisation – at a press conference.
He said that the conference would provide a platform to working women for networking and to learn from success stories to be shared by successful women entrepreneurs at the conference.
“Big names such as Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, Nasira Hasan, a Pakistani woman associated with United Nations for the last 27 years; Ayla Majid, the first elected woman on the board of directors of Islamabad Stock Exchange and two other women from Peshawar would speak at the conference,” he said. “Chinoy is not a new speaker at WIBCON, but she would address the gathering for first time after attaining an Oscar.”
