CNIC renewal: Nadra’s version
THIS refers to a letter from a senior citizen, ‘CNIC renewal: a question’ (June 26). Nadra would like to clarify that it never asked senior citizens to get their CNIC renewed as citizens of 65 years or above are already exempted from renewal of CNIC.
Nadra only asked the citizens aged less than 65 to get their expired CNIC renewed in the press release mentioned in the said letter. The press release had mentioned that citizens between the age of 56 and 65 years would be issued CNIC with ‘lifetime’ validity and their CNICs would never expire.
