Cisco announces investment plans in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD- Cisco Systems International announced its development plans for the Pakistan market by making a commitment to invest in infrastructure, resources, education, partners and support programmes. Cisco provides enabling technologies and solutions in the Service Provide, Enterprise and SME markets.

In a press briefing here, Sam Alkharrat, Regional Sales manager, Cisco Systems, Service Providers, said, ‘Cisco is focused on the Service Provider Market from all aspects including technology innovation, new business models, customer success and support. Additionally, we have a tremendous focus and coverage on the Enterprise and the SME markets as well across finance, government and other sectors.”

Cisco’s presence in Pakistan with an office in Islamabad confirms its commitment here. The company is developing plans and leading with technology in Telcos, Mobile operators, NSPs, ISPs and Cable operators on the Service Provider front, in addition to its increased focus on finance, government, health, defense, energy and other enterprise vertical markets. Cisco Service Provider partners in Pakistan are heavily focused on technology leadership in the areas of Metro and DWDM Optical, IP, DSL, ATM, Voice over IP, Dial, Ethernet Access Networks. Additionally, Cisco provides leading solutions in Content Delivery Networking, IP over Cable, transmission and voice tracking solutions and Internet OSS/BSS. Cisco’s Enterprise presence is stronger than ever with focus on IP Telephony, infrastructure, security, and storage area networking and network management solutions.

Cisco is also planning to build local depot center in Pakistan to provide local replacement of hardware and faster support”

The CNAP programme provides an excellent vehicle to develop resources and grow the local talent in networking and Internet technologies.
