Chinese firm to invest $300m in telecom sector

ISLAMABAD- ZTE Corporation, the largest state-owned telecommunication equipment manufacturer and network solution provider in China with its head offices located in Shenzhen, will invest around US dollars 300 million in the field of telecommunication.

The STE has already invested US dollars 100 million in Pakistan for the promotion of telecom industry. The President of ZTE Corporation, Hou Weigui, is visiting Pakistan on May 9, 2001 to execute necessary agreements,

The ZTE has over 10,000 employees all over the world and has an annual turnover of two billion US dollars. It has offices in 50 countries and is actively engaged in projects in more than 30 countries, which include some of the most developed countries.

The ZTE is an exceptional industrial outfit engaged in all aspects of telecommunication engineering. Supply of high quality telecommunication equipment and network solutions is the primary hallmark of the company.

The ZTE manufactures more than 80 items of telecommunication in 17 categories, which include digital switching systems, fiber optic transmission system, wireless local loop (WLL), GSM System, CDMA System and 3G Mobile Communication System, etc.

Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf inaugurated its recently Completed telecommunication manufacturing facility at Islamabad on April 7, 2000.
