Chairman NADRA reviews registration services in Karachi
Chairman National Database and Registration Authority, (Nadra) Tariq Malik paid a surprise visit to Karachi, inspected various NRCs and monitored working of centres. During his visit, he interacted with the people who had come for the processing of their cards, gave them a very patient hearing and issued orders on the spot for the convenience of the common populace.
Chairman Nadra particularly visited areas having sensitive security situation, where he appreciated the staff for working under severe circumstances and environment that is not conducive. The Chairman appealed to the public to approach another nearby centre if they find a particular centre very busy as there are 48 centers across the city to facilitate them.
He directed Nadra officers to further improve the performance and facilitate the citizens, as customer care is one of the prime objectives of Nadra. Chairman said that Nadra officers should do away with the bureaucratic culture and consider themselves as public servants and prove to be servant of the public.
Later he addressed Nadra employees of Karachi region and announced some of welfare measures; he initiated after taking over. Moreover, grant of 6 additional increments have already been given to the employees who have suffered financial loss in terms of difference between contractual and Basic Pay Scale.
He also announced other welfare measures including provision of quota for appointment of one child of retired Ex-DGR employees (65 candidates have been hired already), grant of disability allowance to 114 disabled children of Nadra employees, special employment for family members of 131 lower ranks shuhada of Armed Forces (Giyari Sector), hiring of 45 percent children of Nadra employees who died during service, implementation of rational posting abroad policy, implementations of Nadra leave policy, training of Nadra employees from renowned training Institutions, preparation of seniority list of regular employees, preparation of service books of regular employees, finalisation of Nadra employees service rules (appointment, posting, transfer, etc) and filling of minority quota through news paper publication.
