Certificate course for journalists
KARACHI: The Vice Chancellor Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) Prof Masood Hameed Khan held a meeting with the Executive Members of Association of Health Journalists of Pakistan (AHJP) on Wednesday at Vice Chancellor Secretariat, in which the details of the Certificate Course for health journalists were finalised.
The Course Contents were identified according to the needs of the local health journalists. It was decided that the introductory course would begin in the first week of March 2010.
Applications from health journalists will be received from mid February 2010. This is the first course of its type and will be conducted in two phases, an introductory course of twelve hours followed by a Professional Development Certificate Course of thirty six hours.
It is hoped that this course will help in the professional development of health journalist and increase their capacity for accurate health reporting.
Tufail Ahmed President AHJP Mr. Akhter Shaheen Rind General Secretary AHJP Dr. Saleem Ilyas Director Professional Development Centre and Dr. Farahan Essa Assistant Professor Pathology DUHS were among those present in the meeting.
