Case against model

ISLAMABAD The Islamabad High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking cancellation of model and TV artist Veena Malik`s passport and initiation of criminal proceedings against her for appearing nude in an Indian magazine.

The petition was filed by Saleemullah Khan Advocate.

The court observed that the present addresses of Ms Malik and three other respondents, including the editor of the FHM magazine, were of India. “The alleged offence, if any, was committed in India, this court has got no territorial jurisdiction over the matter.”

The petitioner, a retired inspector general of police, alleged that publication of the nude photographs of the artist was a conspiracy to defame the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
