Capital TV allowed to resume programming
ISLAMABAD: Capital TV, taken off air two days ago after a guest on one of their live shows insulted the Army chief, was allowed to resume programming Saturday.
Reports say, the decision to let the channel back on air came after high-level negotiations and a written apology submitted by the television management with the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).
In the program that led to the channel being shut down, one of the guests used foul words against General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani. Senior journalist Ijaz Haider was the program host.
Capital TV, launched on April 10, is headed by Basit Sheikh.
