Cable operators should comply with rules: Pemra chief
ISLAMABAD: Cable operators should abide by the rules and regulation and create environment for the healthy competition among the media across the country.
This was said by Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra), Ch. Rashid Ahmed during a meeting with the newly elected representative body of Cable Operators Association of Pakistan(CAP) here on Tuesday.
He assured to redress their issues through dialogue and interaction with representation of the CAP.He directed all the stakeholders of the electronic media industry to follow the Code of Conduct devised by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during the upcoming general elections in letter and spirit.
The chairman Pemra said his organisation is expecting to have law-abiding and cooperative response from the newly elected body of the CAP to help the ECP in conducting free, fair and transparent elections. The President of CAP Malik Furqan briefed the chairman about the issues being faced by the Cable Operators of Pakistan.
