Baluchistan to establish Information Technology (IT) University next month
Quetta- The Balochistan government has decided to set an information technology university in the province next month for which the primary education directorate building will be vacated within the next ten days.
The decision was taken in the provincial cabinet meeting which was presided over by governor Justice (retd) Amirul Mulk Mengal.
An alternative building would be provided for the primary education directorate.
The meeting reviewed the pace of work on the promotion of information technology project started by the government in the province.
The cabinet decided that provincial planning and development department would be responsible for the affairs of the information technology.
A committee was also set up for the purpose which would submit its recommendations to the government for establishing an information technology board as set up in Punjab.
The meeting also reviewed various suggestions on the possibilities of establishing a standard educational institution in Kholu area of Marri Agency and decided that, through the education department, negotiations should be held with the Frontier Corps for its cooperation in this regard.
Governor Mengal said the present government was paying full attention for the promotion of information technology in the province and added that the federal government had also assured its help and cooperation in this regard.
