Balochistan lawyers boycott courts
QUETTA, March 18: Lawyers boycotted courts here on Tuesday and took out a procession. They condemned the remarks made by Advocate Latif Khosa against the president of SCBA Aitzaz Ahsan and warned that similar rallies would be held in other cities if the remarks were not withdrawn.
The procession taken out from the district court passed through various roads and culminated outside the press club. Vice-chairman of Pakistan Bar Council Ali Ahmed Kurd, president of Balochistan Bar Association Baz Muhammad Kakar and president of Balochistan High Court Bar Association Shakeel Ahmed Hadi addressed the gathering.
They said that Mr Khosa’s remarks against the SCBA president had deeply hurt the lawyers’ community which respected Aitzaz Ahsan for his struggle for the rights of the people and lawyers.
They said that the boycott of courts in Quetta and the district towns of Balochistan and lawyers’ processions fully reflected their confidence in the leadership of Mr Ahsan.
They reiterated their pledge to continue their struggle till the reinstatement of chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and other judges.
