Attack on TV office draws public ire

NANKANA SAHIB – The attack on a private TV channel in Karachi late Monday drew ire among local journalists, civil society members, traders, religious and political leaders.

Condemning the attack, they demanded the authorities concerned bring the culprits to book and step up endeavours to thwart such acts in future.

They took a swipe at the PPP-led coalition government for its failure to guard citizens. They threatened to launch a protest move if the government did not wake up to such strikes. They also demanded compensation for the people who sustained wounds in the attack. They came down hard on MQM, PML-Q and ANP for, what they called, their failure in developing consensus to solve the Karachi law and order problem.
