Attack on journalist flayed

NAWABSHAH- President Nawabshah Union of Journalists Muhammad Anwar Shah, President Nawabshah Press Club Jamaluddin Bhatti and senior reporters Rashid Zia Qureshi, Abdul Tawwab Shaikh, Arshad Munir, Muhammad Saleh Biloo, Kashif Zia, Muhammad lqbal Shaikh, Khalid Farooqui and Akbar Baloch have strongly condemned the attack on the life of President Hyderabad Union of Journlists and bureau chief of NNI, daily Ummat and weekly Takbeer.

In a joint statement, the journalists said attack on Abdul Hafeez Abid and his son was a planned scheme to stifle the voice he raised to unveil the activities of the underground mafla. They said such actions against newsmen occur due to leniency of law-enforcement agencies. The journalists demanded immediate action and arrest of culprits involved in the attack. A Black flag was hoisted at the Nawabshah Press Club to express resentment over the incident.
The journalists also prayed for early recovery of Abdul Hafeez Abid and his son Shahid.

In a statement leader of Jammat-e-Islami Ghulam Hyder Bhatti, Nazim Islami Jamiat Talba Abdul Basit Qureshi, Kashif Raza and several people from various walks of life have strongly condemned the attack on Abid and his son.
