Ashfaq Khattak new GM (ops)
LAHORE: The general manager (operations) of Pakistan Railways was transferred on Thursday, according to a notification of the Establishment Division received at the ministry of railways.
Incumbent Saeed Akhtar will be the Federal Government Inspector of Railways (FGIR), a post he held before becoming GM (Operations) in the first week of February last year.
The new GM (Operations), Ashfaq Khattak, is likely to take charge of his office next week, officials of railways ministry told Dawn.
Mr Khattak had been an officer of railways traffic, transportation and commercial wing till last year when in December he opted for secretariat cadre after completion of his Staff College course because there was no BS-21 post vacant in the organisation.
