‘Argentina, Pakistan share art traditions’

ISLAMABAD: Argentine Ambassador Rodolfo J Martin Saravia on Wednesday said that Argentina and Pakistan, despite being far away from each other, shared traditions of artistic works.

The ambassador hosted an exhibition of the LEL Inlay Craft at the Argentine Embassy on Wednesday night. A good number of participants – including diplomats of various countries, dignitaries and artists – highly admired the artistic Pietra dura work done by Farhana Asad and her daughter, Mehrunnisa Asad. Forty-eight pieces – consisting of precious and semi-precious marble, stones and wooden inlay craft – were displayed at the exhibition.

Appreciating the LEL Inlay Craft, the ambassador said he felt proud to be the host of such a colourful exhibition. “It is the second art exhibition at the embassy’s premises. Earlier, famous artist Ghulam Rasool’s work was displayed here. I hope such events would bridge the two countries culturally,” said the ambassador.
